Civil

Case study

London Underground

Completed: October 2015
Client: London Underground
Purpose: To underpin and support old location platform on embankment between LUL line and Network Rail
Ground Conditions: Unknown backfill clay
Pile type: 60r
Depth: 5m
Quantity: 5
Additional work: None. Supporting structure placed on top of the piles done by others
Location: Wimbledon

This a great example for this clever hand install system.

As you can see there is not a lot of room to spare.

The material and equipment were sent out at night whilst trains were not running.

Under the use of lookouts and a coss this job was completed in under 5 hours and ready to take the load of the supporting structure.

  • No disruption
  • No mess
  • No problem
  • Happy client
