The sewer works project based in Southampton was an excellent example of how screwpiling shines through against any other system in this situation.

The client 4D was creating a temporary sewer system to enable the old system to be up dated and worked upon.

On the land given for temporary usage the ground was contaminated with high risk material. Removal of any earthworks was at least £3000 per load not to mention risk of human contact with this substance.

Our first visit was to install the tank base piles. The client set out the piles in an arrangement designed as we piled.

The second visit as you can see from the pictures presented health and safety issues and extreme installation situations.

After creating a safe system of works the next challenge was to install raked piles on an embankment terminating at high level!

We came up with a try and check system. The client for this project provided a fantastic engineer who gave us feedback as we installed. The end result as you can see was a very impressive structure.

Works were completed to the day of schedule which kept both client and management happy.
